1. This test is not so correct when you change a photo from color to BW. You are removing lots of information from the photo. Color photos are 16M color, but BW is only 16 to maximum 256 shades of shades of grays. When AI try to guess the color if you give it more natural known color it can restore color much better because from natural known colors like sky or leavd, it can gues the other shade of gray much better other shades of gray with comparing to natural colors.

2. This test is unproductive, Samsung recognized patterns of the first picture , use real old pictures

3. The picture of the friut is highly unfair. The AI would more than likely recognise the fruit in its complete shape as it has a reference to the shape of colour of bananas and strawberries but not if they're cut into slices or random shapes. It works have been interesting to see if circle to search identified them correctly . If it didnt work it would likely mean the reference databases aren't connected. Same with the flowers.
   I tried CTS and it recognised the friut in the colour pictures but not in the BW ones in general, meaning that colour plays a huge role in AI identification. It didn't even recognise the pizza as a pizza in the BW pic , it thought it was a desert.

4. Your methodology is off. It won't get the colours right as it has no basis for what they were. It's guessing what colours they should be based on it's idea of what it COULD be. Like the cat. Saying its too red or orange is not fair when it's just taking a guess

6. This is the most useless video Android Authority ever made. Just try the feature on actual b/w pics of people rather than on food or flowers pics convert into b/w. At least you should've selected some old pics from Google.

8. I think ur too harsh. Yeah it isnt perfect. Luckily the most important is there. And with updates itll only get better

9. It added colour… so technically it didn't fail. It just contextually failed.

10. A real test should be to actually import an old photo that's been scanned and then apply he colorizing filter. This review is all inside the phone, so for me the results are somewhat questionable. In any case, nice video presentation, thank you.

11. I like the vintage colors, tho. The training dataset might not include many flowers, something that can be added with updates later. It's just how AI matters, it can only guess what it already knows.

12. Appreciate your idea of testing. I wondered if the ai would guess the colors exactly, as you previously changed the colour photo into b/w on the same device. Good to know it doesn't collect your data 😅

13. If you colorize old photos you wouldn't really know exactly what color everything is anyway so it should be fine

14. The past 10 videos of the galaxy s24 been about photos, isnt there anything else it can do besides take or manipulate photos ?

15. I made a lot of money doing this for people back in the day with photoshop. automation literally stole that job.

16. We gotta see this being done on old photographs, physical ones from the 80's, not digital ones converted to black and white and then colorized. This ain't bad at all!

17. Personally, I'm impressed. How did it know the approximate colour of the cat? Did Samsung send a robot to ask it's owner about the colour?

18. Thats dumb is not colorizing b&w photos is just removing the filter, at least show actual black and white photos to see if it really works

19. What if Samsung is cheating because you used the phone itself that created the black and white photos?
