Google Pixel 5 Review: Best Pixel Ever?

The Pixel 5 costs less than any flagship Pixel since the Pixel 2, but is the Pixel 5 actually the best Pixel ever? (How many times can we say Pixel in a sentence?)

  1. Got a Pixel 4a 5G and I've never been happier with an android device. I had been with Samsung since the S5. I just got the Android 13 update this morning.

  2. Cons:
The earpiece is absolutely horrible. I can barely hear people on phone calls and media.
    The haptics are poor.

Everything else is fantastic and Android 12 revitalizes this phone.

  3. Just got this baby! This is a great buy and there's nothing to regret. Most importantly, call quality is just fine. Nothing to worry about but of course I have had better. If you are willing to buy this phone, go and get it. The Adaptive Sound option also improves speaker quality but not the call quality. However, call quality is pretty ok. I have used in quiet, noisy environments and found nothing wrong.

    Thanks.

  4. So I daily drive the S21 Ultra…and I got the pixel 5 to play around with…and I'm tempted to switch. It's a TINY phone, but the screen doesn't feel small at all. It's a super light phone, plenty speedy for daily driving.

Camera compared to the Samsung does require some getting used to (idk if it's like a fisheye effect, but I always feel like there is a lot of deadspace around your subject that just isn't there on a Samsung lens…idk, maybe just me?)

  5. I really like the Pixel phones coz they use stock Android directly from Google, receive updates for longer, n they just do their thing clean. They've been said to be the iOS of Android phones

  6. I upgraded from a Pixel 3 to the Pixel 5 a couple of weeks ago and I am very pleased with it.

Thanks Alex for an excellent review. I think your review clearly highlights the excellent strengths of this phone and addresses its weaknesses.

  7. @Android Central

    They should've called them Nexus 2020 5G

They're devices that just works. No fanciness with quad/quin/tetra lens cameras. Has reliable + battery-life processors. And great software support + security updates.

Most of us only hang on to our devices for 2 years. How many of us has used ALL the features of our $1000-$1500 USD smartphones??
