There’s a new version of Android on the way. Android 12L is a small update on phones, especially Pixel phones. But it’s the biggest change for Android on large displays in a decade, as Google looks to reboot Android tablets and make the big-screen experience on foldables even better.
0:52 – Android 12L on Pixels
2:40 – Android tablets history

Seems like Windows 11 tho
Give it 2-3 years and Google will abandon it, just like every product they introduce that doesn't give them massive profit.
As it stands today, 12L is awfully unpolished, and even if the UI did turn out to be tablet/foldable friendly, convincing app developers to adapt to the UI design will not exactly go well given how long Samsung has been pushing premium tablets since the original Galaxy Tab and yet nearly all the apps that run on Android were still designed to be Smartphone-first.
will lenovo p11 plus get android 12L ?
12 is fucking garbage.
You have to respect Samsung and their efforts.
The rounded corners on the apps in split-screen mode bother the hell out of me.
Google are also bringing out, a new pixel tablets in 2023. That might be another reason for bringing Android 12.
Looking forward to having Android 12L on my Surface Duo 2
Using A12 on realme narzo 20 pro
This is very exciting as someone who likes tablets but doesn't want to just pick between iPad. The biggest hurdle Android has is app support. App developers on Android never make use of the features.
I thought that Android tablet market share is above 60%? There's this generally accepted myth that the iPad dominates the tablet market, but looking at the sales figures it's just not true.
Can't wait for this for my Tab S8+… whenever that is
Yay they fixed the clock I can update my phone now
Is come android 12L for pixel 3?
I'm excited for Surface Duo
Finally some tablet love! And with many of the S8 tablet models sold out it's great timing!
Problem with Android! google got its teeth in so deep like a leech privacy will always be compromised Android IOS. they don't respect privacy. D Jones
i only want optimized app for bigger screen for android. like facebook
with out Samsung here then google android would be DEAD long ago. big up to samsung they don't own android but things they do eventually become android's new feature like laters on . i remember seeing my friend use a galaxy note back in 2014 and back then google has not even introduced the split screen function yet, but only Samsung has it for their's note line up which make me "WOW" back then , i mean that's some super useful stuff that no others phone back then has. i mean Samsung should own android at this point , since they even support their phone with os update the longest too. lol
Oh God it's going to be Honeycomb all over again…
Foldables need to go away
Android tablets are great and the 3 top manufacturers (Samsung, Amazon & Lenovo) sales combined outsell ipad sales. Something you'd not believe listening to the negativity from the guy in this video.
For me media consumption is the best use for tablets and Android tablets are vastly better than iPads for this.
For me, Android Tablet should have desktop class browser, like in iPad. No need to tap view desktop mode every time the page shown as mobile.
Preordered the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+. I am very excited for this. The reason I bought the tablet is because I am used to my LG Ultra-Wide Display at home. Whenever I'm on the go with my Dell XPS, college or work, my multitasking options seem lackluster whenever I'm used to having 2-3 windows open. My Galaxy Tab S8 is definitely going to help with that.
All these features are already present on samsung. Also, the drop down menu on the left is dumb as it's farther to reach using the right hand…
Nice, Windows 12L
I think google should just leave to samsung for android tab development
Cringe + has L on it
Android 12 W when
Can Samsung just take over Android already?
So, what devices get it? Will there be an option for people to choose if they want the 12L or regular? I have a Z Fold 3 and still have my Note20 Ultra from last year and it would be great to have 12L on my Fold and compare it to 12 on my Note
2:40 anyone know the name of this song please ?
I usually only use my Android tablet for watching videos and some web browsing. Rarely at the same time even. I just like the similar mobility to a phone but with a bigger screen and better sound quality. But more importantly without the distractions a phone usually gives. This new big screen Android isn't really something I care much for as I already like my tablet as it is. If I want to use a really capable computer, I use my desktop.
So it’s copying iOS…
Good idea actually
5:16 Look at that obnoxious google search bar widget.
Honestly Android Honeycomb looked more fun and lively compared to Android 12L
Samsung has been doing this for long time
Can we flash A 12,L in raspberry Pi 4 or onward
It pretty obvious that 12L takes the L 🙅🏻♂️
Avoid the pain of a poorly thought offering. Buy an iPad and be happy
This is worse than iOS 11 running on iPads, and this is coming from someone who’s running android 12L and typing rn on an iPad lmao
13 just came out lol and we can't see 12L aosp 😂
Android 12 ruined the OnePlus 9 pro.
The nostalgia seeing Honeycomb again.
Top statusbar is a waste of screenspace. Bring Dash to Panel. Where is back and menu buttons? Swipe for back is a usability nightmare. Can windows now handle window closure events? Is there borderless and headless window style? Is there always on onscreen keyboard? Is there a way to change resolution of external display? etc etc Still looks very far behind Windows and Win32 API.
That desktop style app bar is yikes 😳
They are going to need to do something about that 😬
