Super Bright LED Light Review, Baja Designs Squadron XL

Smaller than a LED Light Bar, The Baja Designs, Squadron XL lights are the best small package off road lights I could find while doing my research. If you watch my video review you will see how bright they are and how many features it has which made it a clear pick in my book. I wanted reverse lights for backing down the trail, backing down a boat ramp or even backing down the driveway at night.

Here is where to get the lights: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GGOEH5I/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00GGOEH5I&linkCode=as2&tag=chri0e2-20&linkId=65QV6WTIPSXEQWV5

  1. I'm currently thinking of adding such light but to my motorcycle. That's how I found myself at this apparently old video. Ugh I wish someone teaches me about bikes like ChrisFix teaches me about cars.

Btw I've been subbed for years although I only have a bike.

  2. Chris, Thank you for your very detailed and educational videos! I am nearly 70 years old and I have owned, and worked on many of the muscle cars of the 50's and 60's and 70's when they were new! I'm restoring a 2006 Jeep Wrangle now. Many of your videos have taught me a lot and I'm very great full for your time and effort to help us followers!

  3. High quality bright BD XL LED lights but used for the wrong application. BD makes great OFF-ROAD lights but the large XL size mounted below the rear bumper are vulnerable to be knocked off. Smaller auxiliary LED reverse lights would be a better choice from various top tier brands for reverse function.

  4. I feel like those lights would be much better use if you mount them to the roof rack, visibility will be up by like70%

  5. the hate is cause he got sent a pair of $700 lights designed for desert racing and the only use he has for them is reverse lights. why don't you send him a $3000 Canon DSLR too for a dash cam.

  6. Electrical novice here. But if I'm not mistaken I could run a three position switch and have the option for high, low (50%) and off from a single switch, right?

  7. I put a $35 pair from Amazon on my F150 and they're more that adequate.  Also, I bent them over 2x this winter backing into snowbanks.  There's no protection down under the bumper.  Save you $ for protected areas.  Also, Also, they're an EAZY GRAB for would-be thieves.  TomJV

  8. Hey Chris, i have one question, and i was hoping youd help me out if you may. I have a 2005 infiniti g35 coupe 2wd and well… I wanted to install another muffler but… My car for some reason when i press on the pedal nicely to take off… It feels like the acceleration is escaping and ive taken it to several shops and they say its my exhaust but… I dont think so… Theyre not stock their aftermarket ones but i rarely use my car and it was changed id say a rough estimate of 2-3 years ago by far, also… How can i unlock my backseat? It folds but its locked in as well as with my trunk… You can say i dont have a trunk right now its locked in and i dont know why… Thank you

  9. Chris. Another great video. If you were to have a single light installed, what kind of light spread would you be looking at? I want to add a single light ( because of cost) to the rear of my dodge grand caravan. Backing up at night (and in the rain) has always been challenging. Having one of these would certainly reduce those moments when you can't quite see as good as you would like. I want a light that can give me a minimum of 20 feet in distance with a spread of 15 to 20 feet close to the the rear of my van. Thanks

  10. @Landrew0 Don't be an idiot. The lenses are not glass, they are plastic. But there's no such thing as "unbreakable" plastic. And plastic gets scratched up, especially if your are driving in sandy conditions. By making the lenses replaceable, they are allowing you to replace just the lenses, instead of having to replace the entire unit.

  11. Great business plan!  Why use unbreakable plastic lenses, when breakable glass will guarantee that customers will have to come back to you, to pay your price?

  12. Well done video! Footage was short and to the point and the narrative was very professional. It might be important to note that these lights where designed to take the rigors of off road racing such as the Baja 1000. I'm not a sales person nor do I work for BD but do run their products on my person truck.

  13. Nice video, I personally do not have an issue with my reverse lights. Just wondering before you did all of this did you consider swapping the reverse light bulbs for something brighter?

  14. Hello Chris;

Great video, my name is Jonathan La Salle, owner and operator of JL Sno-Plowing in Marlborough, Ma. I need your expert opinion. I have purchased many light set ups for my Ford F-350 Super Duty and I have damaged every set. I snowplow with this truck and my biggest gripe is the inadequate back up lighting. I mounted my lights under the bumper and they got wiped out either by snowbanks or other vehicles in traffic. I attempted to mount them on the bumper but became an obstacle when opening the tailgate. I just saw your video and love the lights but I am specificaly looking for a light that I can mount on the bumper at either side of my license plate without impeding the view of the license plate numbers.

What would you recommend? The four light system may be too large(my opinion). I would prefer a two light system inline vertically. In other words a set of four lights two on the left and two on the right. I want something with the same warranties and capabilities as what you mentioned in your video. I currently have two cheapo halogen lights from Wal-Mart and they have worked the best. They are not weather tight or moisture resistant but after my fourth pair I used a siliconized clear caulking that painters use to seal all of the seams and the screws. The reason why I am in the market for a replacement is because the bezel is made out of glass and after cracking it is a matter of time before water gets in and fizzes the light.

    Help please!

  15. hey, are there any good legal lights LED or HID (headlight, low beam) that easy to install that don't burn out?

  16. I'm trying to find HID Headlights and idk if im making the right choice. What do you think would be good for a 2007 Honda Civic? I'm looking at SDX Xenon HID Headlight conversion kit (8000k) would that be a good buy or what would you recommend?

  17. Damn you!
I was feeling in a crappy mood so was ready to moan at anything and here it was, yet more crappy led lights, and then they turn out to look really really good!

    how could you!

now i need something else to moan at as i dont feel moaned out yet!
oh hang on, yeah that was a bit of a moan, so i kinda do, damn these lights.
go review some crappy ones ebay is full of them!

  18. Wow, couldn't really see the stock lights to all of a sudden total daylight behind your truck. Way to go kid.
Btw, your videos are racking up and getting better. Kudos
