Using a heat gun for faded plastic trim. This video shows how to turn your faded plastic trim on your car back to black. On my Ford Ranger, Mazda B3000 it has stayed black for 9 months of daily driving so it will last a while. It lasts longer than any restoring stuff I have used like back to black and armor all.

It definety works to restore the look, but it makes the plastic brittle so I'd def recommend a warning.
Isnt it easier just to paint it? Heating it could dry it up, i mean it is plastic after all.
Did it stay looking new for long or no? Because i know that stadiums do this and it works but i think they alawys do it
Do you think a hair dryer would work
Hi Chris! Can you post a video on how to fix scratches on this particular plastic part of the car?
Have you ever used PENETROL and how long does it last ????
Hi chris, greetings from Brazil, my grandpa uses gasoline to make all the plastics of the car look new again.
Any updates on this or a new way of doing it? @chrisfix
Hi! Chris. How about an engine cover smeared by "whatever chemical is it" that made it faded. Can I do the same. Can I use a back to black restorer without any effect on the plastic considering it would be exposed to extreme engine heat. Thanks!
Do you know if this could be used to repair scratches in plastic cladding? I wonder if I started by sanding out the scratches, if the heat gun could be used to smooth out the sanding marks. Any experience repairing scratches and scuffs on plastic cladding?
My dad just gave me a faded old black plastic thule roof carrier, and I immediately came to youtube and searched "chris fix old faded plastic." I knew you'd have this covered somewhere! You are the best. I sure appreciate all your content; teaches me so much!
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
it did improve went from a 1 to a 3, let me know when you have a video where it goes from 1 to 10
I fucking can't wait to do this.
Does this last for a long time?
Before the "Hey guys, ChrisFix here."

@chrisfix Is this still your recommended method?
Heat gun for 10?
248914 – 15 oz. Spray rust oleum bed liner black. Two coats and my CRV looks great!
Can you be more detail on this matter in the future for all viewers? For me i need focus on faded seat belts please the super car clean seats did not help me:( keep up the good work :).
Hey Chris…I have read several reviews of plastic trim coatings. The biggest complaint is streaking where the product leaches onto the body paint below the trim, from rain. You mentioned a nano wax in another video. How has that worked out?
Chris – do an updated video for this
How to remove the black rubber guard from the front and rear bumper. It's so Sticky I'm afraid that I could ruin my paint removing it. Please help me
Dud use cerakote trim coat is better than that
Used car dealerships to this with a blowtorch, it doesn’t last as is kind of scammy of them
