  1. Mine is in the same dang place! I've used kits like this before but this video just makes it easier so I don't have to read and reread all the directions as I am a perfectionist thanks!

  2. I’ve used this before. It works pretty good. One suggestion Chris. Do Not Clean with windex or cleaner for a few days. Or that’s what the kit say I believe. Thanks Chris. Love your videos.

  3. Been watching ur channel for years, and this came in handy today. I also used a lighter on the inside to help get rid of air bubbles and soften the resin to fill the entire chip. Just make sure you don't have a tinted windshield if you try that… Also, after all these years, at the 1:07 mark, I was smiling. Iykyk.

  4. I wonder if this gunk reacts to chemicals. I'd like to try a repair on a glass oil lamp font which contains paraffin or kerosene as it's called in the states.

  5. When you do a chip repair and empty air pockets remain the repair is not complete. When a repair fails there is no re-repair. A successful repair depends on the quality of resin, tools, and practice.

  6. Awesome videos Chris. I’ve been watching for about 4 years and got a chip in my windshield this morning. Was cautious to do it myself since windshields can be an expensive fix but once I saw you made a video on it will definitely do it myself! I always refer your videos to people my dude. You are the Jesus of the YouTube automotive industry!

  7. Is this safe for bigger chips? Quarter size or so? The glass place in my town quoted me 100 bucks for the repair and I just can’t afford that..

  8. Just used the RainX kit and it worked. I have a Safelite repair on the same windshield and was about to do it again until the quote came back at $150. I love the Safelite service, but when I found this video I thought what the hell. If you are willing to do it and listen to the instructions it works. I had a star shaped chip and it filled it. I can see a little of it, but it's the same result from what I can see from a safelite repair on the same windshield.

  9. 8:14, when you remove the plunger, it can create a vacuum,
It may help to screw in and remove the plunger a few times to remove air pockets.
Other tips I saw on YT, is to tap the glass with the wet resin, slight heat from inside from a hairdryer or lighter, and polishing the final cured resin.

  10. So why is there no need for a curing strip on the other side of the glass where there’s more glass missing??? Do you only care that one side of your glass is flush???

  11. A great way to get your chipped windscreen sorted is…. park outside a house with kids playing in the garden… wait for the ball to come over the fence, then simply knock on the door and tell the parents to cough up for the damage 😜
