If you score the backside (non printed side) of the boxes, it helps with stopping the ink from cracking when you make a bend. Also making the bends slower helps. There's a special tool called a Bone Scoring tool that helps with this, but you can also do it with an exacto knife and a light hand. Just be careful to not cut through the card stock.
