Here is a short video showing how to easily replace a front wheel bearing without a press or slide hammer. In my view, this is the easiest way to replace a wheel bearing.
This video features a 2003 Honda Pilot, but the procedure will work for most pressed in wheel bearing assemblies.
Below are links to the tools used. FYI, you can often rent a Hub Grappler from your local auto parts store. Not sure if they would have the Quick Race tool though.
Thank you for watching!

No loud music , No Blah Blah Blah…. Just Eric showing us all the easy way to do what we all dread doing. I must add ….The quick and easy way after all the busted knuckles and fingers and swearing doing it in a press. Thanks Again Eric, Stay Healthy !
Oof, that Hub Grappler is almost $800
Also can someone teach me how to get my wheel bearing un stuck without a torch or cutting it
This was the best video I could find thank you and the shortest
it was glorious 🥲
Nice and quick! totally enough to get the job done
Yeah, if it were that easy.
Awesome
All these vids on how to are great and very useful..but unfortunately most of us dont have the space a lift or the tools thats needed to do the jobs 😮..great job though 👍..
I have a 2004 Honda Pilot needing front bearing replacement. Need a better video showing the actual disassembly of the front wheel to get to the bearings. I appreciate the video effort, but not very helpful.
i explained this procedure to a foreign "mechanic" recently having not seen this video and he laughed at me . ive never seen it done but have seen plenty of jobs done using a bearing pullers . now i have a link i can show . thanks eric. welcome back.
Great to see content being uploaded.
Hi Eric! Hope all is well with you and yours! Hope you bring more videos.. thanks for all you've done!!
Glad to see Eric is still alive!
i know this is a couple months old video . only because im not finding nything newer. But my question is , How can you tell if it is a Rear wheel bearing or something in side the Read dif. I have a2004 Jeep Liberty, ive lifted it 2.5. anyway, at about 40 thru 50mph, i get a viberation in my ass, and i hear a humm more less, from time to time i see my review mirror shack. I have changed out the drive shaft and it still happens, this is all under load, when not unload and i left off the gas pedal it goes away, and when i hit the gas again, it comes back .. I know that you can tell a front wheel bearing buy turn the wheel back and forth and listen for the changes that way .. For a Rear wheel bearing is a bit different .. Can you offer some advice on what i can do to help get to the end point on if it is a wheel bearing going bad or something inside the Rear dif .. i dont have anything i can mount under the back to help figure this out, so i can use a recording device to see what side or where its really coming from. Thanks for advice and tip to figure this out .. .
Where are you Eric?
Revisiting the channel and loving these low-effort videos. Sometimes that could be taken as an insult, but I seriously appreciate these!!! Welcome back my man, keep it on your own terms!!
Hi, thanks… Welcome back… Always be safe…
Great video as always! Just the way I like it too! To the point!
I’m excited to see the hackhawk come to life!
In my vision of how I'd do this, you recreated the dream, complete with using the torch to let the retained inner race fall down by gravity. I'm not sure many viewers would appreciate all that went into this, and how different it is. The very first video I saw of you taking this style of bearing off years ago was an eye opener, it was the usual method then. It's so nice to see you making videos, Eric. I hope you and your family are well.
Ok I just gotta say this, Eric your videos well frankly have nose dived. I hate to say this man I really do, but come out with some new and better content or I’m leaving this channel sorry man.
Impact gun ftw!!!
you're back that's great. hope all is well. mucha paz y salud
Good 'ol Hub Tamer! I love mine and despite it's hefty purchase price, it's paid itself off tenfold in time saved from the hydraulic press.
