13. I know I'm late as I've only recently found this channel, but I can't believe just how inspirational these stories can be! And for some people to be disappointed that the book was lower quality than they wanted for the price paid? It's not about the book you will receive, it's about making Joel's life better and anything extra going to others! Grow up people, you get less 'rewards' for donating to charities in Africa that keep more of the profits than Pleasant here. I am very happy to have been able to be a part of this, even retroactively, and the books are just a perk!

That book right now has a great value because of the story behind it and the changes that it has and still making in Liberia, the images were captured by a simple digital camera, not a crop or full frame DSLR or by a professional photographer capturing images with perfect composition and lighting..the fact that you purchase it, you're giving someone some form of peace of mind you put a meal on a table you gave a child clean water to drink you put clothing on a child's back these are the important things, that book should be one of the greatest books on your bookshelf because by buying that book you help make a difference this is the creation of amazing history years to come someone will sit one day and tell a child about this you and I may not hear about it, trust me the story will outlive us.

28. I mean, the real product is this video series. The book is a way to show support and get a physical memento or conversation piece. It's a way to pay back the channel for both the amusing content it produces and the genuine work done by Joel. It's no secret that the book would never be worth $10 by conventional standards, because it's obviously not a conventional book.

42. Camera and laptop are not necessities in liberia. Gosh i really dont like joel. He gave you a bad attitude, you made all the hard works. Im quite surprised that you still can put up will his attitude.

43. The printing cost in US, our local partner printer is US$ 540 for 1000 books, so should cost $0.54 each. Come on, I know its not about the book, but you could have sold this for $5 a pop and not $10. If you wanted the charity.
