We filmed the NHRA Finals this year for the first time! The first video of many we bring to you is some behind the scenes of how things work! It’s interesting to see how the entire operation works and we give you guys a bit of insight on the different classes of NHRA and how they work. We hope you find this as interesting as we did and gets you pumped for the coming videos from this event!

Almost as loud as when my father sneezes
Didn’t even realize Bob Tasca who won the finals just walked right behind him
This is brilliant. Coming from England where i dont think drag racing has ever been on national TV. It's amazing to see what you get in America. Brilliant.
That Ass, at 9:00
Remember that kid Kyle going around asking a bunch of street racers questions with a camera now he has infiltrated the upper echelon levels of drag racing congratulations man
I live by this track didn't know you guys where there, I van hear the cars from where I live that's how close I am 👍
You guys cover better then Nhra .. 🤘🏼
POMONA CA ftmfw
That track is next to a busy road and an airport!?
Why did the NHRA shorten the track from a quarter mile to 1000ft?
8:58 mark 👀
I camp over Thanksgiving week at the RV resort that's right next to the airport and was there when this happened. I rent a plane at the airport and fly friends over to Catalina island for lunch and when I went to pick up the plane one day the scoreboard was all torn up and the fence at the airport was torn up too. he had a engine out issue and didn't make it to the runway and clipped the scoreboard which flipped the plane over and he landed on the fence on the other side of the road by the runway and was able to get out before the plane caught fire and burned up.
@8:57 looking good, looking REAL good. Too bad the cars looked like shit.
more nhra.
You guys should do one on rally cars!!!!
Diamond Videos come a long way……
Oh man, y'all got to see a cackle fest.
That's a treat.
"Enjoy" the video? That's an understatement! I love it! It's brilliant! I must be ignorant of something, but I don't know what. At 16:34 – Why would I think NHRA sucks? I've missed something somewhere. This video is absolutely fantastic. Thank you for the brief explanation of the different classes of cars. So very interesting. So were the volume levels and the tour through the trailer. The dedication, the amount of work and attention to detail is mind-boggling. There's nothing like drag racing – absolutely nothing. Thank you so much again.
Some high dollar equipment has measured top fuel from the starting line. How's 165 db!!
At 4:34 I don’t want to see if a guy is 6 inches or 8 inches in
I'll bet Rupert Murdoch has never seen inside any of these trucks
i’m lucky enough to live 10 minutes from epping and i always go for eliminations but on qualifying day i can literally hear them from a town over lol
I remember as a kid in the early/mid-90’s there being what had to have been over 100k people in the stands. It’s crazy to see so few people in the grandstands during eliminations. These are great events. The teams are super friendly and open to everyone, answer questions, take pics, you name it. No other series is as fan friendly as NHRA. If you’ve never been I would strongly recommend it. Great video.
It's very sad seeing how empty the grandstands are.
129dB @ 100ft is equivalent to around 148dB @ 1m. The dB/m is the most common way to measure loudness (like loudspeakers for example.)
Shame you had it on A weighting. Next time if you get a chance, opt for no weighting (push the A/C Clear button a couple of times) 🙂
I remember watching the outlaw nitro funny cars down here in Adelaide Australia about 8 years ago so much fun to watch especially the jet powered drag cars thats something else 👌
Amazing!! Keep up the good work!!
Dad and I have been to Topeka for every race since 1989 and still going. Nothing like nitro up close.
Cleetus Needs that for PPVs
That's right guys, NHRA Top Fuel is a whole other level. And my favorite part, no imports!
My first pro race was the mopar mile high Nats in Denver back on 06. Ron Capps drove for brute cologne and the crew guys yelled "who wants a free cologne sample?" And they proceeded to pour a bottle in every header pipe before warmup. I was a fan for life after that lol
It is truly insane
I have been to Indy and oh my god
Screw the NHRA.
My cabin is 17 miles from Brainerd International Raceway. During nationals we can hear the top fuel cars making passes.
NHRA is awesome. But Tickets in Cali are way too expensive.
Being Awkward Builds Character 🙂
John Force on fire? Must be a day that ends in Y…
I love the smell of nitromethane in the morning best smell ever.
You dont hear them you feel them they're very visceral and words cant describe how they feel
ive been to that track long ass time ago the alcohol cars burn not just your eyes but your nose as well standing super close to them is really bad.
Thanks for sharing this video 🤙🏼🤩❤️
I go to both races in Pomona every year, I recommend people to go at least once. The friends I've introduced to the sport have turned into huge fans. Lots of actions, good food, good beer, and great times. My kids all go too and they love it.
Have you actually never been to an NHRA race before?
Lanny is the best!
