  1. Just two questions: "why did you not winterize the boat ?" That is like boating 1.0.1.
and why don't you have any sea cocks ?

And as a remark: you cannot be serious about trying to rebuild this boat. Everything will have to come out, write off all the wiring, engines, alternators, everything electrical etc. This boat is not worth that anymore. Yes, it can be done, will be an interesting Youtube video, but other than that it is absurd.

  2. Once had a 65 chris craft 31 Catalina twin crusaders raw water all that wet exhaust added magnetic exhaust flaps to keep water rat's out they eat the rubber sinki sinki make a check list and use it just like an air plane dock it shut off the sea coks that is what there for sinki sinki run the motors for 10 seconds lowers watwe level in system freezy freezy and any thing any thing below the water line should have a sea cok to shut off when not attended mine sank 20 years ago from a stupid shaft packing hard lesson to learn after all that sanding and vanishing for a 20$ seal just sayin lot of work good job 😊

  3. They need to ditch that 1" pump and invest in a 3" pump. One 3" gas pump would out flow all 4 of those other pumps combined

  4. Always leave the seacocks off when the boat is not in use.Drain the cooling system in winter.Keep a heat source on in winter to lower humidity and prevent freezing.

  5. Calvin H. 2x 63mm thru hulls located approx 1m below the waterline will sink a boat quick you are right about getting there within a hour might have just saved the boat , it's unlikely in most cases to be able to respond to a bilge alarm within an hour if you are not physically on your boat it's impractical bilge alarms are generally used to alert you whilst onboard , thru hulls should always be closed whenever you step off the boat , if that had been done in this situation, the boat would still floating , remote monitoring alarms useful to let you know how often bilge pumps run 80 percent of moored boats are sunk by plumbing below the waterline failing , bronze ball valves attached to all thru hulls below the water line and closed whenever you step off the boat is foolproof and vastly superior to having to respond in a panic every time you get an alarm

  6. Boating 101 says close your thru hull valves when you leave the boat because a hose or hose clamp can always break without the freezing issue. Still, sorry for you having to go through that.

  7. How about properly winterizing the boat? BTW those large brass shut off valves on the water intake hoses were installed by the builder for a reason. But, anything mechanical especially parts that move, need to be serviced periodically. Servicing those valves could have been as simple as exercising them annually.

  8. Damn that sucks. You probably want those through-hull valves shut whenever you leave the boat eh? Even if the lines burst nothing more would be able to enter.

  9. Sorry but 100% your fault, Never leave a boat with sea cocks open, especially in Winter and not using it for so long. even if leaving it over night you close the sea cocks…. 100% owners fault

  10. Hey bud sorry about your boat, when you refit, consider swapping all your seacocks for Bronze Groco's with their backing plates. Best of luck!

  11. Nice boat. I have a used 2017 SeaRay 185 Sport that was 2/3 sunk due to biblical grade rains and an improperly wired bilge pump that some service moron had wired to the battery switch hot rather than directly to the battery. Engine had to be pickled but the boat has been resurrected. Glad you managed to save yours.

  12. Why not consider getting a heat gun or a blow dryer to loosen the valve & filter? I mean you were there all while the boat was being pumped out…Why is he always so unprepared? LOL! The water on the hill was pooling since water travels to the lowest point.

  13. everyone warned you, your yacht is scrap. very expensive learning experience. needed a professional to help you thru the retrofit. I volunteered, Maybe next time Jeff
