4. ECUs do not predict future air use, they aren't clairvoyant. Air is normally dumped to make the air reading valid in a MAF system, and to make the idle controllable. For a MAP system for load measurement, its mainly to control the idle.

5. I'm no engineer, but how is the back of this car now safe? Doesn't this all form part of crash protection?

7. I sold them the first year part of the warranty was you had to bring it back after 1000 miles for wheel alignment. You could void tire warranty if you missed it +or- 100 miles.
