This is a good speech, man. I think building trust and community between cops and the communities they serve is probably one of the most important things we can do. I get a lot of the criticism people level towards the cops. I live in Baltimore, and they do a lot of fucked up things here. The DOJ released a report outlining all the ways they broke and bent the laws including abuse of force and racial profiling. But I can't ever buy into the whole fuck the police mentality. We need the police. It's a necessary part of our society. The question has to be "how can we make the Police better", not "how can we destroy the police".

Great speech! We are only human and sometimes when out of uniform we respond with a knee jerk reaction and say what first comes to mind in moments of anger then regret it later. I usually try to just keep my mouth shut most of the time
