On august 17, 2023, Perkins police department were called to Perkins-Tryon Intermediate School about a teacher allegedly showing up heavily intoxicated on the first day of school in Perkins, Oklahoma.
she was taken out of her classroom to meet with the school’s superintendent and a police officer. She continually denied she had consumed alcohol at school.
Eventually admitted she had drunk half a box of wine until 3am earlier that morning.
Eventually, she admitted to consuming half a box of wine until 3 am earlier that morning.
She agreed to take a breathalyzer test and blew into the machine producing a measurement of 0.24 – three times the legal driving limit of 0.08.
However, the superintendent, the officer and school administration suggested that she had been drinking since arriving at school and since class started at 8.25am.
At this point, Officer told her that she needed to have someone come and pick her up and take her home. She refused to let him call her husband.
the superintendent then gathered her belongings for her and returned with a blue cup – questioning what was contained in it.
After claiming it was juice, the officer, upon smelling the cup, detected the scent of wine.
She was later told to put her hands behind her back as she was cuffed and arrested.
She was placed under arrest and transported to the Payne County Jail on the anticipated District Court charge of Public Intoxication.

The way she could still talk and walk relatively normal with that amount of alcohol in her system tells me that she’s at least a habitual drinker, possibly an alcoholic. She needs to get herself help to quit drinking and deal with her mental health issues.
Mannn this is sad over worked unpaid and whatever problems she has addiction doesnt discriminate hopefully she gets help …. i personally dont think they had to arrest her i feel like the cop was on a bit of a power trip but i guess thats the world we live in right …..

I feel sorry for her. She clearly has a severe addiction problem but at no time was she incoherent or argumentative. This lady needs support not public humiliation. This would have been a video better not shown. She was surely in breach of her contract of employment but why were the police called?

The woman was really asking for a second chance after being hammered and lying right to her bosses face? All sympathy left at that point.
She should've been walked out the front door in front of everyone! Drunk in front of her students; tampering with evidence & I've seen less behavior get charged with resisting! I have zero sympathy for this "teacher"!

Update: She showed up drunk at the courthouse to address these charges. She was rearrested for public intoxication on the spot. She DEFINITELY needs help with her alcoholism.

She’s an alcoholic obviously but they took the teachers school pictures that morning so she had to be sober until then then drank afterwards to “catch up” but drank too much and got drunk.
