Seattle, Washington — On August 16, 2023, at 7:45 p.m., Seattle Police Department Harbor Patrol officers responded to multiple 911 calls of a man in behavioral crisis swimming off the shore of Fritz Hedges Waterway Park. Harbor patrol officers arrived within minutes and located the man at the water line. Officers attempted to establish communication with the male before land units arrived. However, the man re-entered the water and began to drown. Officers maneuvered the boat towards the male and threw him a flotation device. The male was unable to grab the device and quickly sank beneath the surface. An officer shed his gear and dove into the water. After multiple free dives in thick marine vegetation, the officer found the victim at the bottom of the water. The officer pulled the victim to the shore, but the man was not breathing. Officers began CPR and thanks to their efforts, the male regained consciousness. Seattle Fire Department personnel arrived and the victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

  1. You know you're drunk when "Head back to shore" starts to sound like "Swim out some more."

  2. I was in a pool one day, it was 7Ft and was trying to get something from the bottom. I knew how to swim, always feared not being able to touch the bottom. So I dived to grab it, and when I did it the second time, I couldn't come back up, as if someone was holding me down or weight were put on me. My wife managed to help me out. I had water in my lungs, and when I went out, I started puking since that is a natural reaction. If you see someone drowning even if they are faking it, still help them. Any longer and I would of died.

  3. So the cop's lies almost got this man killed. They said they couldn't get that close to show because their "engines are too deep". Yet they made it to the very shore they said they couldn't get close to.

  4. But didn't the man want to die? And that's why he did it? Hopefully on his next attempt he won't take any innocent bystanders with him!

  5. I live right across the water from the Seattle boat police! Normally they just tell people no wake or scream wear a life jacket. Glad to see they are being proactive

  6. Wow, they certainly did not give a fuck that the dude was drowning. Yelled orders at him, said their boat couldn't go in, and waited til he was fully under. What a couple of absolute pieces of human garbage. They're super lucky he didn't die.

  7. I thought "this video couldn't possibly have psychos in the comment section hoping the man died" sorted comments by recently and yeah they're here like usual. If you freaks like people dying so much maybe you should go for a swim yourself. It's disgusting and scary to know they're in our society, one bad day away from acting out their sick fantasies.

  8. Police Activity, Thank You for showing stuff like this!
Policing has never been more complex or challenging than in this day and age.
