San Diego, California — On August 11, 2023, at 3:12 a.m., three San Diego Police Officers responded to an apartment complex at 3435 Lebon Drive on report of a vehicle burglary. The 911 call was placed by a security guard who reported that two men, driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck, where breaking into cars in an underground parking garage. Officers arrived and blocked the only exit of the parking garage with their patrol cars. The screeching tires of the F-150, later determined to be stolen, alerted officers to suspects. The two occupants of the F-150 ran on foot, as the only vehicle exit was blocked. Three officers initiated a foot pursuit. The passenger in the F-150 ran North. He was not immediately apprehended. The driver ran South followed by the three officers. During the foot pursuit, officer Lee repeatedly told the driver, later identified as 39-year-old Justin Teague, to get on the ground, but Teague kept running.

Teague fired at least one shot at Officer Joseph Lee. Officer Lee discharged his service weapon striking Teague, ending the foot pursuit. For the next two minutes, officers told Teague to stay on the ground and not to reach for the gun, yet Teague continued to move. Once officers deemed it safe to approach, they moved closer, detained Teague and secured the firearm. Officers provided medical aid until the arrival of paramedics. Teague was transported to the Hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening. No officers were injured during this incident. Teague’s firearm was loaded. It was jammed with a round in the chamber when recovered. The following week, Teague was charged with several counts, including attempt premeditated murder on a peace officer. The judge denied bail.

According to SDPD officials, on the evening of Nov. 8, 2003, Teague, then 19-years-old and the subject of two outstanding arrest warrants, rammed an SDPD cruiser with a stolen car at a gas station at Clairemont Mesa Boulevard and Kearny Villa Road in Kearny Mesa, then accelerated toward an officer who was on foot. That officer and two other officers responded by opening fire on the suspect, leaving him with two gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Teague drove away despite his injuries, fleeing for a short distance before slamming into a retaining wall near state Route 163, where he was apprehended. Teague was convicted of burglary the same year. He was sentenced for auto theft in 2004 and was convicted in 2017 of possessing a stolen car, conducting identity theft, and recklessly evading police in a vehicle. Last month, Teague was detained on accusations of auto theft, fleeing police, reckless driving, and possession of a stolen vehicle. He posted bail that same day and was released on bond.

  1. Love the "GET ON THE FUCKING GROUND!!!" when he is already in the ground in a world of pain. Then it's the "DON'T REACH! DON'T MOVE!!! G…GET IN YOUR FUCKING STOMACH! NOW!!!" God damm that's confusing

  2. Must have got a republican judge because he denied bail. Good for him. This guy is a career criminal and car thief. Now he’s upgraded to attempted murder of a peace officer while fleeing. This is a slam dunk. Let’s hope the DA does his job. I’m just sad the officers aim was a tad bit off. Glad the officers were okay and fortunately that guy was probably using some odd ammo in that shield for it to jam like that.

  3. Wow. This guy was shot in the past before for committing crime and has continued to commit crimes. It's a shame they didn't smoke him because the justice system won't even keep him in prison.

  4. Reading he description is horrifying…
I see a western wide trend to let these people roam free despite being an obvious danger to society. He tried to kill officers before, but judge let him go.
    Judge let him go!

  5. Lol scumbag is released on Bond lol as i type this LOL , scumbag probaly getting ready to do some mass /stabbings/ shootings , nowonder this country is going to shit

  6. This POS only fired one shot because his gun jammed. This isn't his first time trying to kill police either. In 2003 he was shot by police trying to run them over. He went to prison from 2003 to 2017 and immediately continues his crime spree upon release.

  7. That officer is impressive. Good fitness, lands his shots while running at the suspect, uses his WML properly, and a clean reload with retention while using cover.

  8. So basically since 19 years old this guy has been stealing cars, trying to kill cops, and has now been shot twice by cops? Get this dude out of the general public

  9. 19 with those crazy felonies and charges. The United States justice system is a joke. They set free these animals over and over, this kid will kill somebody soon

  10. “How did they break in the vehicle?”
Dude, seriously? How important was that at the moment? The security guard is there watching these fools telling you what’s happening.

  11. With all the California gun control, it makes you wonder how this thug acquired his weapon? Which gun control law would this have prevented?

  12. From the description re bail.

"According to SDPD officials, on the evening of Nov. 13. Welp looks like he's gonna die in jail unfortunately. I say unfortunately because tax payers are paying instead of his family to have him buried.

  14. When he was in grade school, Justin was asked; "What do you want to be when you grow up?"
His answer? "I wanna be a assclown loser".
He's one of the few children from his school who has realized his dream.

  15. Полиция отлично сработала.❤🎉

  16. Given this mans extensive criminal record and history of trying to kill police officers he should get a decent sentence to serve community service 100 hours minimum with his licence restricted to daylight hours only.

  17. Looks like he's going to see a family reunion now. Maybe he can have a nice long reunion. They should talk to him about making good choices for yourself. 😊

  18. That sack of crap has been a violent felon for at least 20 years. It's Commiefornia, so I'm not surprised he had been released from prison twice before. This was his 3rd strike. Time for a lethal injection.
