  1. Alcoholism is truly life destroying. I hope he can get help and find a way to stick with it and turn it around.

  2. Great officer and so nice out of compassion for this guys addiction and not long to live because he can't stop drinking and lying. All this non-sense about not want to hurt someone a hundred times, and going around him, but felt sorry for hurting anyone is just a lie. You have only a split second to act and thinking isn't part of that. Thinking comes after.

  3. My uncle Dennis had cirrhosis of the liver and the doctor told him he only have a few months to live if he didn’t stop drinking and at first he did OK but after maybe a week he went right back to drinking and he actually live longer than a few months, but he did eventually pass away from liver failure. Alcohol is one of the worst drugs there is.

  4. .29 is nothing but definitely way too impaired to drive even for a seasoned drinker. Last time I was hospitalized for intoxication, I was a 0.45 when I was tested 6 hours after my last drink. .29 is nothing for a heavy drinker. I never understood the alcoholics that said they had to drink daily etc, I was a binge drinker and always drank with the intention of getting blasted otherwise give me a Pepsi. Never understood drinking just a couple, I stopped binge drinking years ago and glad I don’t have the deathly hangovers anymore. I can’t tell you how many times I never went to the ER and didn’t die. I realize I’m very lucky to be alive with those crazy times in my life but I don’t regret them, as they were times that helped me grow spiritually and personally. I don’t have any health issues despite all the years of abuse. I have lived thru more than most people would or ever will and I am one of the very few that lived to tell their story.…

  5. My father died in the Texas State Hospital in BigSprings Tx. He had wet brain from his drinking.
I almost drank myself to death twice. Happy to say I am sober now.
Until a person hits there bottom, they are not ready to stop drinking!

  6. Have to say as an organ donor who doesn't drink, would be super disappointed if someone like this guy ended up with my liver. You know, would be if I weren't dead. Until he could at least recognize his enormous* problem with alcohol, he isn't worthy of something I've spent decades taking good care of. Which I know sounds cold, but if you consider there are people who need a replacement liver because of circumstances beyond their control; it's the person who wrecked their healthy organ and wants one that's cold. And selfish.

*Dude was amazingly functional considering his BAC, which combined with liver failure seem to indicate breakfast was two bottles of wine. Just like usual.

  7. The officer did the "follow the pen with your eyes" BS waaaay too long, he was just going to keep going until the guy failed it. I'm not saying the guy shouldn't be held accountable for everything, I'm just commenting about that one thing…. he went back and forth far too many times to even make it fair…. a sober person would begin having trouble at that point as well….

  8. He should have left he’s abuser a long time ago. Now it’s lead to this. People say to me in abusive relationship that it’s not that easy to just walk away, there are children in this relationship, they are paying off a house him and her or in this case him and him. How ever all these things are no good to you if you are Psychologically and emotionally damaged by this partner. The dream home is no good to you if he murders you and the kids left without that parent and they spend the rest of their lives in therapy because it was traumatic for them. When you are dating someone please don’t think you can change them if they are abusive toward you, these people don’t change. Get out and away from any form of abuse immediately, even if the abuser Psychologically and verbally abuses you it can leave you with a psychosis that you may have for the rest of your life. 😇⭐️🇦🇺

  9. You put your left foot in. You put your other foot out, You put the left one in and you toss the other out. You do the Hokey Pokey and you turn yourself around. But seriously, liver failure must not be too painful? Then again, maybe he popped a fistful of Oxycodone (without the liver-killing acetaminophen in it) Yeah, that's what he did. Now it makes perfect sense. Rock on, Liverboy-man!

  10. Dudes jaundice not to much long. He won’t be eligible for another liver. Sick “F”! Ruined someone else chance to live so he could destroy another liver.

  11. Sticking things where they don't belong certainly could be considered abusive. He shouldn't have been driving, but I don't blame him for having those two glasses of wine for breakfast after whatever happened to him the night before.

  12. I see a lot of good arguments here about sobriety & getting help But what about all those ppl in the Caribbean islands that drink damn near DAILY operate heavy machinery just fine & live 80/90+ years & have 0 liver issues ? The bigger convo is is it just the alcohol or is it the alcohol food water & everything else HERE in the US that causes livers to fail at a higher rate than normal (let’s have a real conversation) 🤝

  13. So if this guy keeps getting in accidents cuz he's driving drunk, will he keep being let off with tickets? And did the cop even check to see if he had any prior DUI's???

  14. My sister-in-law is in acute liver failure. She's 43, and drinks fireball all day every day. Has a 14 yr old daughter & 4 year old. The 4yo was born at 25 weeks gestation 1.5lbs because of her drinking. He's healthy somehow. Been to rehab 6 times. Every time she's drinking within a week of getting out. She won't stop!

  15. I can’t help but feel bad for this guy. Acute liver failure? He’s clearly in a lot of pain and isn’t in a healthy relationship. Seems like he doesn’t have the best decision making skills at the moment. He needs help and I hope he gets it soon.

You don’t get new liver. My grandfather died of cirrhoses of the liver. He drank a lot but I don’t blame him at all. He was a Vietnam vet and saw horrible things.. he was traumatized. I know that it isn’t the correct way to cope but I can’t be the judge of how much pain someone is in at all.
