On October 6, 2021, a Doraville police officer ran the tag of a sedan at a QuikTrip gas station in Doraville, Georgia, revealing an active warrant for the arrest of the registered owner
Following that, the officer spoke to the driver, who refused to provide identification. The officer warned him many times that he would be arrested.
He refused and requested a supervisor, who was then called to the scene.
Eventually, his girlfriend provided identification to the officer, confirming the warrant.
The driver was charged with a local ordinance charge-(obedience to police).
Eventually, he admitted to having a warrant and asked the officer if he could receive a ticket instead of going to jail. The officer explained to the driver and his girlfriend that it was too late for that.
They then accused the officer of being hostile and pushy, claiming the charge was unnecessary, as they believed they had already provided ID.
Despite the officer’s kindness, the driver was placed into a Jail transportation van and transported to DeKalb county jail.”
