High-Speed Chase: Reckless Driver Attempts to Outrun Police

#CrimeCamNow
On January 7, 2022, a routine patrol by a Forsyth County deputy took a dramatic turn when they clocked a red Chevrolet truck traveling at a staggering 99 mph in a 55 mph posted speed limit zone in Cumming, Georgia. The deputy immediately initiated a traffic stop, signaling for the driver to pull over.

Instead of complying, the driver of the truck chose to escalate the situation further. He hit the gas, attempting to evade the pursuing deputy in a reckless high-speed chase. Despite the suspect’s efforts, the deputy tenaciously stayed on their tail, determined to bring the situation under control.

Several miles later, the suspect seemingly realized the futility of their attempt to outrun law enforcement and began to slow down. Eventually, he came to a complete stop, following the deputy’s orders to exit the vehicle. At this point, the suspect was promptly placed under arrest.

When questioned about his motive for fleeing, the suspect provided an astonishing response, stating that he had embarked on this dangerous escape simply to test whether he could outrun the police.

Subsequent to the arrest, a thorough search of the vehicle uncovered a bag of marijuana and various drug-related objects. As a result, the suspect faces a litany of charges, including reckless driving, speeding, fleeing/attempting to elude for a felony offense, possession of marijuana (over 1 oz), operating a vehicle without lights, having defective tires, and possession of drug-related objects.
