On August 13, 2021, in the early hours of the morning, the Doraville Police Department received a call that led them to Lodge Atlanta in Doraville, Georgia. A determined woman, who had fallen victim to a wallet theft from her truck earlier, decided to take the investigation into her own hands.
After discovering a pending charge on her bank account, the woman traced the unauthorized transaction back to Lodge Atlanta. The resourceful victim approached the front desk, where she skillfully extracted information about the suspect – the person who had used her stolen card to pay for a room.
Confronting the suspect directly, she demanded the return of her wallet. However, the accused denied any involvement and insisted he used his own card for the room payment. The situation escalated when the officer, called to the scene, asked the suspect to produce the card used for payment. After a fruitless search, the suspect claimed to have lost the card but continued to deny any wrongdoing.
Persistence paid off as the suspect was ultimately arrested and placed in the backseat of a police vehicle. The officer, thorough in the pursuit of justice, called for jail transportation and collected the necessary information for the report.
He was charged with FINANCIAL TRANSACTION CARD THEFT and transported to Dekalb county Jail.
