On January 3, 2023, a Police Officer was on routine patrol when he observed a box truck with license plate covered with tape driving on Buford Highway in Brookhaven Georgia.
An officer initiated a traffic stop. They pulled into Wendy’s parking lot and one of the suspects suddenly fled from the vehicle on foot, but was arrested moments later.
Officers asked about the obstructed license plate. They said it was covered because the box truck had no insurance.
They were charged with possession of marijuana, loitering or prowling, possession of tools for commission of a crime, removing or affixing a license plate with intent to conceal.
The driver had an additional charge: Driving while his license was suspended or revoked. All were transferred to DeKalb County Jail.
