#CrimeCamNow
On May 29, 2022, a Chamblee police officer pulled over a BMW for speeding at 92 mph in a 45 mph zone in Chamblee, Georgia.
Swiftly initiating a traffic stop, the officer approached the vehicle, but the driver denied the excessive speed.
The officer requested the driver to exit the vehicle, a request met with refusal.
Tensions escalated, prompting the officer to declare an arrest and a warning of a potential tasing if compliance was not immediate.
Reluctantly, the driver stepped out, was arrested, and secured in the police vehicle.
The officer’s thorough check revealed more surprises – the female passenger had an outstanding warrant from Minnesota for obstruction. Though not arrested due to jurisdiction constraints
Amidst complaints about tight handcuffs and accusations of aggressive conduct, the officer remained composed.
The driver, adamant about his innocence, asserted his rights, only to be reminded by the officer that every move was recorded, leaving no room for dishonesty.
During the transportation to DeKalb County jail, the driver persisted in his complaints about the handcuffs, leading the officer to make a stop for another check.
Throughout the journey, the suspect continued his accusations, challenging the officer’s integrity and claiming aggression.
Despite the verbal sparring, the officer maintained a calm and professional demeanor.
The legal aftermath saw the driver charged with obstruction of law enforcement officers, possession of open container, speeding, and reckless driving.
