  1. It is quite disgusting that any tax paying citizen has to be financially obligated to fight individual state laws, that were simply designed to go against the federal constitution, that law enforcement agencies and government take an oath to protect and uphold…

Well, it's over… The citizen accepted a government settlement… Absolutely no case law, as to this incident, will be upheld… Lt. Matthew's statement was created to be of contradiction; while not actually holding Det. Beard, nor Officer Malta accountable for the illegal stop and illegal deviation of the man's protected rights…

The so-called "city ordinance" was on their books as being legal, as the citizen's action was known to be protected within the 1st Amendment…

The protections of law enforcement to arrest a person is solid, regardless of innocence or guilt… Arrests are about numbers and revenue…

Lt. Matthews is no hero… His entire meeting with the innocent was purely for optics, as Lt. Matthews was passive-aggressive throughout his scripted and rehearsed statements; continually attempting to keep the innocent man from speaking…

Lt. Matthews and city officials simply put on optics in video and on paper of change to the public… Change that will not happen…

  2. The one thing I love about this channel is that it goes through everything. I love law enforcement.
But I also love it when they get called out on their BS.

This channel is what we need. And this channel is what is needed for everyone law enforcement officer to watch as well as understanding case laws to basic laws.

Law enforcement isn’t a pretty thing like every other public service job. But the one thing you are told to do is act professional and don’t let things get personal for you.

  3. Watching this channel i find myself swinging wildly between disbelief and insane laughter at how stupid you have to be to lie while you have a video camera an a microphone recording everything you do an say… sometimes I think its because the academy training hasnt dedicated a large section of its training to the fact that now the public has the power to watch them too an cameras are now the physical representation of civilian oversight committee's

  4. Lieutenant Mathews showed a rarely seen excellence. Yes, he made a mild excuse for his officers but he also:

A.) Dismissed all charges after review, including the citations he was guilty of.
B.) Cited the Constitution, unprompted, in his dismissal of charges.
C.) Launched an investigation that led to the termination of a detective.
D.) prompted the city to alter their ordinances to be in alignment with the Constitution.
E.) Made no issue of being recorded during his conversation with the defendant/suspect/victim.

Mathew’s level of professionalism, initiative, and fairness should be celebrated. I don’t think a C+ does him justice. If more officers were like him we wouldn’t need channels like this one.

  5. Back2Basic remember FIRST it's called Free with equal access during normal business hours to be right here with My camera on!! YOU don't like it, I GET it But Free with equal access!! So I refuse to waive My first Fourth fifth and fourteenth amendment protections and invoke sixth amendment protections taking away any lawful reasons to put hands on citizens for saying NO!!😊 Without lawyer present!! 😊

  6. I love how the captain tries to make it sound like the citizen was getting something positive out of his ordeal and tries to wrap it up without any repercussions to the officers.

  7. Kids that want to be legal bullies become these types of cops. That Lieutenant sat there and tried to protect those thugs. Yes, he voided charges and tickets and even help change an ordinance but those obviously should have been voided and that ordinance probably should have looked at and changed for some time.

  8. Although I'm in sympathy with Mr Hall and feel the officers were in the wrong 100%, Mr Hall has a bad habit of interrupting, not listening, and overtaking.

  9. Derelict vehicles? You mean people's personal private property. And exactly how does an inoperable vehicle parked in a driveway pose a danger to anyone? Sounds like Wright City has a money grab scheme against it's residents

  10. "I understand you're an argumentative individual." He just had to get that jab in, didn’t he? So when he tries to defend himself he appears to be argumentative!

  11. 13:19
I am not an argumentative individual I have 7 kids” he said argumentatively even though his kids are irrelevant in this case.
I understand being frustrated and annoyed by what happened but dude stfu and let the man speak so you can go home. He’s literally telling you he’s dropping all charges and explaining to you why so that there’s no confusion, misunderstanding or anything like that.

  12. Stop settling these cases… hold these people accountable and get them in the news. They settle to avoid news and media outlet reporting and it allows them to continue to act this way.

  13. So the officers don't know the finger is protected speech they been living under a rock that dead horse been getting beat for at least 20yrs and what do cops always say ignorance of the law is no excuse if u can't be ignorant cops can't be ignorant either

  14. " HE or SHE", not THEY / THEM ?!, oh no, i feel a disturbance in the force, snowflakes will get triggered and will complain :))

  15. I feel the spirit of the law is to stop people hoarding piece of junk vehicles on their properties and making the neighbourhood an eyesore, but it should be applied with discretion because it doesn’t allow for someone who might be restoring a vehicle or if it is being used for spare parts. To me the vehicles were neatly parked in the driveway, were not hazardous, weren’t leaking fluids, and the only issue (which to me is a non-issue) is they are unregistered. He’s not driving the things on the road so what’s the harm?

  16. The first cop was an instergater. The second cop was a sheep and a fool. The Lieutenant was trying to save his ass because of a lack of leadership reining in his officers .
