The officer's name is not released nor is he put on leave.     According to the Delaware Department of Justice, Michael Capriglione, 63, pleaded guilty to a count of official misconduct and careless driving. He admitted to ordering the deletion of a surveillance video in May 2018, which showed the chief driving a departmental vehicle and striking another vehicle in the police department's parking lot.

    Judge Noel Primos stripped Capriglione of his Council on Police Training Certification, required to be a law enforcement officer in Delaware.

    At sentencing Thursday, May 23, 2019, Capriglione was sentenced to one year, suspended immediately, so he will serve no time in jail. He was sentenced to one year of probation
