26. There should be a media literacy class BEFORE the kids get to middle school. Covering bulling, depression, what kind of information should never be put online, how to use privacy settings, different types of scams, etc.
    There should also be a class available for parents. That way, they will know what to watch for. They could do a hands-on class on a Saturday & one in the evening to accommodate working parents. Parents should also monitor accounts of younger children. It's not a perfect solution, but it would be helpful.

It seemed all people were cheering in the comments so, I decided to leave a cautionary comment which was almost exactly the same as Robbie's commentary. Then came here, with heavy heart, expecting that Robbie and Brie might have not picked up on the full extent of this event, or might start arguing on minutae. What a great relief it was to hear your take! You are saviours of sanity! Rising forever! 🙂

And, are we forgetting the one tool (among others) parents do have (and always had) is to disallow their children from using social media even the internet, a noteworthy practice already used by many for an array of motives and cautions.
