  12. People are still hung up on the "Fraud needs to have a specific victim." This is what someone said to me when I tried to explain about the NY laws that don't require that: @CanadianEhHole said, "It's not fraud, that's their point. Property evaluations fluctuate heavily and this judge didn't even accept any of the 3 expert value assessments, he determined himself to also be a property evaluation expert and decided on his own evaluations for the properties."

    He also said, "Like or dislike Trump, it does not matter. This judge is a loon. If you read his 90+ page decision, particularly the "Conclusions of Law" section, you'll read that to defy the mandatory establishment of reliance for fraud cases, he stated it isn't actually necessary, even from a financially adept institution like a bank, solely because he thinks this one case at the trial level — which has no legal authority on other cases, that's how low level the case he cited was –, sort of, kind of, makes this argument for him and therefore he's going to repeat this insanely weird legal precedent."

    As well as, "He also throws out the fact that Trump's report had a disclaimer on page 1 saying "DO NOT RELY ON THE ASSESSMENTS I HAVE PROVIDED — THEY ARE SUBJECTIVE, DO YOUR OWN DUE DILIGENCE"… his properties are famous and this is a major bank. Guess what they did? Their own due diligence… you have no detriment. You have no reliance. So this is fraud how??"

    I've seen other comments like his. They don't understand why the law was put in place and don't believe it's real. They also don't understand that comments like "Do not rely on this information" are phrases that people use to get around rules and that those phrases don't mean anything in a court of law. It's like the people who put things on their Facebook wall like "I don't authorize FaceBook to use my information." They can say them all they want, but that doesn't mean they hold up in court.

  36. Popoc – admit it – it is VERY unlikely that any lien will be made on any building that trump owns in NY – there are too many exiting debtors on those properties along with people who will be and already are involved in suits against trump which involve these properties.
