And we’re off on the roller coaster that is apartment work! This video takes place between Wednesday and Friday of this week. And it’s been a ton of work which I’m very grateful for. However, with that comes a laundry list of challenges. Like trying to put new guys to work to help us keep up and also to see if they could be a good addition to our business. And in most cases, they usually don’t pan out. Not all the time is it that they aren’t good workers or skilled guys. Sometimes it’s that the apartment world and work can be too much for not enough money. The margins are extremely low in the apartment game. Properties will only pay what they will because they know that there is always someone willing to do it for cheaper. Also, to go a little further with that. It really is the construction industry overall. Especially with painting work. Whether it’s new construction: no money for painters in that. Even residential is getting to the point where most everyone wants painting and repair work for the cheapest possible price. Yet they expect the absolute most! I don’t have a lot of experience with commercial work. So I can’t speak about how the money is with that. But I suspect it’s probably the same. So mentioning all this, we work with the work we can get and also often times get a lot of. And we try to price as competitive as possible. And definitely aren’t trying to be the cheapest guy. That way I can try to pay the most that I can to my guys. There’s a lot in this video to share. We start working with a few new properties where hopefully we’re able to charge a little bit better of a price. I also go do one of the most stressful occupied repairs I’ve ever done.
