On July 9, 2021, Doraville police officers responded to a call at Checkers in Doraville, Georgia, concerning a disruptive customer. Upon arrival, an officer encountered a female customer expressing dissatisfaction with her food and the service received at the drive-through.
In a heated exchange with the Checkers staff, she demanded a $9 refund. However, due to processing limitations, the refund couldn’t be completed until the next morning. Frustrated and angered, she impulsively threw her drink at the drive-through employee.
After taking statements from both parties, the officer intended to resolve the matter. However, the situation escalated when the woman began screaming and causing a disturbance. Consequently, she was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and interference with a business.
